Army: "DEATH TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH!"
Freedom of Speech - R.I.P.
The Army has just issued a directive that all soldiers who write about war on their blogs - or in any document, including letters home - must have their commanding officers approve them first.
They're even required to get prior approval for sending e-mail now. Penalties for ignoring this order include -- and I quote Army Regulation 530--1: Operations Security -- "administrative, disciplinary, contractual or criminal action."
What was the most recent reason Bushie gave us for needing to kill Iraqis? Wasn't it for "Freedom"?
The day is dark in these United States. The day is dark, indeed.
