Active duty soldiers call for end of war
Since the war in Iraq began, there has been a mounting number of veterans who have turned activist in hopes of pressuring the Congress to end the fighting. But now, for the first time since the start of the war, active duty soldiers are starting to dissent.
Today, 65 active duty soldiers filed an "Appeal for Redress" under the Military Whistleblower Protection Act, asking Congress to end the war. According to CNN, under the act, active duty soldiers can communicate freely with their Congressional representatives without fear of reprimand.
And make no mistake, active duty soldiers are reprimanded if they express opinions about politics. Unless, of course, you're backing the BushMen.
The soldiers will be holding a press conference in D.C. on Wednesday.
