"80 to 85 percent, in a conservative fashion, of Iraq is reasonably under control, at least as well as Detroit or Chicago or any of our other big cities. That's an encouraging sign.''So, if these people are authorities on the war, we have nothing to fear, right? Yay Surge! Bush is a hero.
That's basically what my Congressman just sent out. Get this: Burgess said ...
"[T]he facts speak for themselves. The two month surge in Iraq is making a difference, and I am appalled that votes this monumental in importance are being made based off of television reports. General Petraeus gave an honest assessment of the situation on the ground in Iraq. He admitted there have been significant challenges, especially with sectarian violence, but he nonetheless accounted for remarkable strides of progress. But, the vote on the floor to withdraw troops simply sweeps the truth under the carpet."
Yes, those Damnocrats are sure hating on the troops. Damn those Democrats, trying to follow the will of the people. Americans need to be told to sit down, shut up, and stay in line.
