Rating Burgess' votes
The Disabled American Veterans Association does not like my Congressman very much. In fact, they have given him a ZERO PERCENT RATING based on how he's voted on legislation concerning injured and disabled veterans.
One would think that if you support a war, you should support the troops as well. But in his role as a Congressman, Burgess has consistently voted against supporting the troops, be it for additional funds for body armor, repealing the Disabled Veterans Tax Act of 2005, the Veterans Access to Health Care Act, or, WORST ABOVE ALL, the Depleted Uranium Screening and Testing Act of 2005.

How does that make any sense?
Here's the rundown of his key votes. The one that makes me wince the most is when Burgess voted against giving the families of fallen soldiers a little more money for burials (H.R. 831) in private or state-owned cemetaries. And it was the second time he voted against fallen vets' families, as he had voted against H.R. 805 as well, which would have done the same thing as H.R. 831.
Here's how he's voted on other veterans' issues.
